Whilst it might not have the energy of Prague, Brno still offers plenty of things to do at night-time. An established cultural program characterises Brno evenings, with a local theatre and symphony providing top-notch entertainment. Visit www.brno.cz to discover what is happening at the bigger venues or go to Centrum (the Tourist Information office) to buy tickets. For those who are young-at-heart, the Music Bar at the Metro (Poštovská Six, Alfa Pasáž; www.metromusic.cz; Monday to Saturday 19:00 to 05:00) is where you can have a boogie. The program alters each day from DJs to live bands etc. Concerts begin at 20:30.
Alternatively, you could do what many Brno residents do and visit any of the local public houses situated on virtually all street corners. U Blahovky (in Gorkého Fifty-four) is a classic Brno old school public house, reportedly the tastiest Pilsner Urquell in Prague. Both of the micro-brewers mentioned above (refer to “Where to Eat”), U Richarda and Pivnice Pegas, are great choices for drinking venues.
